Are prop fund rules designed to make you fail?
When looking for a prop fund it is important to look for red flags, where the prop fund is intentionally trying to fail you with unreasonable rules. Here are a few to watch for:
- Trailing Drawdown: Unfortunately, in the Futures Prop Fund market, every fund has this rule, so it’s unavoidable. However, when selecting a Forex Prop Fund, avoid those with a trailing drawdown. Find out why here.
- “Consistency rule”: If a prop fund will terminate your account for earning too much in a single trade or day, then they are a scam!
- Withdrawal Fees: Some prop firms charge fees to withdraw your profits. Beware of these costs. It may not make them a scam, but is generally frowned on.
